I was deeply saddened to hear of Rev. Leon's passing. He was truly a shepherd of the flock who dedicated his life to the teaching and preaching of sharing the gospel with countless others.I greatly appreciated his singing in the choir at Lutheran Church of the Cross, as well as his family's contribution to the choir which included Helen, his late wife, David, Christine, and Kathy his gifted children. I also was deeply saddened to hear that Kathy had passed on. To Davd and Christine I want you to know that I will always remember everything you did to make the music program at Cross so very special. These memories will never leave me as long as I live. Leon, Helen, and Kathy are with the angels in heaven and safely in the hands of Jesus. What a glorious way to end the first part of their journey. May the good Lord bless and keep you David and Christine during these difficult days. I will take time to watch your dad's funeral and shed many tears. I hope to see you again whenever you are visiting Winnipeg. - Posted by: Richard Appler (friend) on: Feb 01, 2026

Pastor Gilbertson will be greatly missed! I loved to see them each Sunday at church and the smile on his face when I made them lemon bars and cheesecake! From Susan, Dave and Amber - Posted by: Amber McInnes (Church Baker Friend) on: Jan 31, 2026
